GROWING FRUIT PACKER INVESTS IN PA HIGH SPEED TRAY SEALING LINES

Updated: Aug 2, 2021

An existing customer for over 4 years, J.O. Sims recently turned to Packaging Automation again when facing rapid growth in the business and were looking to invest in higher speed lines and undergo a complete factory rejig.

They needed to find a solution that could maximise the grading and linear weighing machines to give optimum pack house capacity and efficiency.

PAL supplied a Revolution heat sealer to match existing equipment on site but also upgraded all the older onsite machinery to the new specification. This included soft seal and auto tension to completely deskill the operating process and let the machine deliver maximum results.

PAL ensured they had commonality across all new and existing tooling to avoid additional tooling costs and double-checked existing film layouts worked with the new tooling.

The constantly fed Revolution machine, means J.O. Sims are now achieving steady, consistent speeds, rather than stop start feeding which they were used to.

Their Overall Equipment Effectiveness / Efficiency has improved, and they benefit from an up lift of around 30% from each machine. This in turn reduces their cost per unit and allows them to be extremely competitive in the market and grow.

J.O.Sims said “We chose PA as their service is exceptional, they always make me feel like the only customer on their list with rapid support.

The sales engineer cares and his after sales is second to none.

The Spares department always have what I need and deliver with efficiency.

The service & install team in the field are all great people and they have a good depth of knowledge, skills, and experience.

The machines PA produce are way ahead of any other machines out there at the minute and I feel that PA are always looking at improvements and changes to keep the machines 1 step ahead from everyone else. RELIABLE, INNOVATIVE AND BEAUTIFUL!!”
