Exclusive to members of the Manufacturers Alliance Community and members of Make UK based in the Northwest, The Manufacturers’ Alliance Annual Conference 2022 took place on 18th May 2022 bringing together high calibre manufacturing leaders for the first annual face to face conference in three years.
The long-anticipated event centred around the theme of inspiring leadership and included keynote speakers who took centre stage sharing refreshingly honest and authentic insights into how they strive to lead with inspiration and empathy whilst achieving personal and professional ambitions. The day also included an afternoon packed with workshops delivered by the Manufacturers’ Alliance team of industry experts covering core subjects, embracing people, purpose and profit. Members and guests were encouraged to get involved and decide on actions to take away from the day creating a unique catalyst style experience to spark positive change in everyone’s approach to leadership.
Neil Ashton, Managing Director and Tanya Westenraad, Engineering Design Manager were both in attendance and shared their experiences with us.
Tanya Westernraad started her career in engineering at the age of 18 on a 4-year Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering Design and is currently our Engineering Design Manager. Tanya is no stranger to the Manufacturers Alliance having previously attended Team Leader Courses with them where she received invaluable advice.
It was therefore no surprise that given the opportunity to attend the Annual Conference she jumped at the chance; despite a busy schedule she knew it would be a day well spent. Here’s what Tanya had to say about the day:
“What an excellent event! I came away with some key takeaways and have already (1 day later) implemented them to great success! This was a great opportunity to network with my peers, build new contacts and share best practice. I particularly enjoyed the session “Unleashing the Potential in your People” and am certainly driving more fulfilling conversations as a direct result of attendance – thank you to everyone involved for delivering such a first class event.”
Neil Ashton, MD added :“I found the conference to be extremely valuable and consider it to be essential for personal development and for continued business success. The speakers and industry leaders who shared their experiences were excellent, it really was a fantastic day to meet fellow leaders and learn from their experiences whilst reflecting on our own business opportunities and challenges.”
