On Friday 4th March we finally succeeded in getting the whole of #TeamPA off site to The Mere Country Club for our annual end of year celebration. Typically, we would share a retrospective overview of the business, what were the challenges and the successes as well as the plans for the forthcoming year.
We have been trying to get the whole company together for last two years but due to COVID restrictions, it has been impossible.
So, this year was a little different, it was an opportunity to get everyone together from across the whole business, 152 employees, to relax and enjoy each other’s company as well as meet new faces in the real world and not through a computer screen. We have had to endure a torrid time during the pandemic, as have many others, and with all the challenges and expectations of the business and of our customers it was a fantastic way for the business to say THANK YOU.
The support and commitment from everyone in the business over the last two years has been immense and should not be underestimated, successfully growing the business through such a tough period has been achieved due to our amazing team.
Fun and celebration was the order of the day and after a hot buffet lunch we kicked off proceedings with prize giving for the table quiz winners – here’s Tom Clinch collecting a bag of goodies for his table.
Neil Ashton, MD then gave a quick update highlighting the business successes during the last 2 years and concluded by thanking everyone for their contribution.
Raffle prizes were then claimed – raffle tickets under chairs were a nice surprise for everyone and we think the prizes were an even bigger surprise! Here’s just a few of the team collecting their prizes.
Next up was the Apprentice Awards for Billy Morgan, Libbie Bridle, Charlie Collett, Joe Grant and Tom Chadwick.
And then we had congratulations to both Lucy Holman and Sarah Morgado. Lucy on the completion of her Team leader Development Programme and Sarah on receiving her Certificate from CIPD in Human Resources and completing her Mental Health Awareness Training.
Next up was Exceptional Employee Award and this quarter the nominees were:
Lucy Holman, John Stanley and Ros Hodgkinson.
But there can be only 1 winner and the winner, selected by the Staff Council was John Stanley – well done John.
We also had the opportunity to congratulate Alan Henderson on reaching 25 years at PA – here he is receiving his award and gift from Neil Ashton, MD.
Following the presentations, Neil drew back the curtain to reveal the games room and what a Games Room it was – we had: Golf Simulator, Coconut Shy, Rodeo Bull, Selfie Mirror, Football Table, Multi Game Arcade Machine and High Striker!
This event brought teams and individuals together, to talk, to laugh and engage in something other than work and it was a privilege to be in the same room with all our colleagues. It’s fair to say these fun activities were the icing on the cake!
We’re already planning another event later this year and have invited all #TeamPA to make suggestions to their Staff Council Representative.
