Since 2001 Packaging Automation has recruited over 70 Apprentices covering disciplines such as Mechanical & Electrical Assembly, Fabrication & Welding, Machining, IT, Administration and Mechanical Design.
All 70 Apprentices completed an HNC qualification, 38 achieved an HND and 8 completed their degrees with the support of Packaging Automation. We currently have a further 2 studying for degrees.
Neil Ashton, MD at Packaging Automation commented: “Apprentices are so important to our continued business success. I would hazard a guess that at any one time a third of our team are apprentices – that shows you just how important they are to us! They are often, but not always millennials and tend to bring with them a new injection of energy and creative ideas too. We’d love to hear from you if you think an Apprenticeship might be for you.”
Packaging Automation has run a successful Apprenticeship Programme for many decades now, combining on the job training and experience with academic study, leading to academic qualifications up to degree level. This programme gives young people the opportunity to embark on a career, gain life experience and transferable skills as well as achieve national accredited qualifications.
In 2022 the Apprentice Recruitment Programme is looking for applications for the following disciplines:
· Mechanical
· Engineering
· Fabrication and Welding
The Apprenticeship Programme takes 3-4 years to complete but provides hands on work alongside studies at a local college.
#TeamPA support the Apprentices throughout the programme, helping them develop as part of the team and learn leadership skills to allow them to progress into supervisory roles.
To apply for a Packaging Automaton Apprenticeship, candidates must have 5 or more GCSEs at Graded 4-6 (C) or above including Maths, English and Science.
